Hostal Madrid

Prime location, near Plaza Mayor and Sol metro station. Short walk to all the main sights.

Typical hostel, small rooms and not very comfortable.

Recently renovated and quaint little hotel, our stay was very nice.

The location was magnificent for walking around a large urban plaza. Liked to hang out in the centre, it's around 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel...

The location and the staff. It is actually nice that the breakfast is not included, because we can discover some nice cafes around the Hostal.

The walls between the rooms are very thin and therefore we listen to everything that is going on in the room next door.

Everything was really good, FAVOURABLE location close enough to Plaza Mayor and Puerto del Sol, the metro and train station and the shopping area, and 2 very popular tourist destinations and, at the most, incredibly nice staff. I liked the room for 3 beds. Its decor was comfortable.

Booked 2 x Single Superior rooms, but on check in was offered 3 bed/bath apartment with terrace for only 12€ extra per night. Great apartment, with good views. Comfortable beds. Added bonus of fridge being in the apartment. Great location for getting around.

The hotel is located in an excellent place, close to Plaza Mayor and Sol subway station.

The hotel must be renewed. The room had a dirty aspect.

Great location in the centre of the city; apartment for two (we were upgraded free of charge!) is spacious. Staff was helpful in recommending restaurants and bars. There is a good selection of grocery stores and bakeries for breakfast, since this is not provided in the hostel.

Being in the centre of the city means noise until 2 am or later - something to be prepared for if you are having an early night.

Extremely good value for money, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic location in the city centre. I'd definitely stay there again!

we, group of 4 elderly stayed in Hostal Madrid duirng Nov 2010, we booked for a room for 4 persons but when we arrived, the hostal was so kind and consideration given us a beautiful 3-bedrooms apartment with a beautiful balcony. The hostal staffs are very friendly and helpful, especially the Receptionist Ms Emanoela, she was very helpful and informative, she gave us many helps and make our stay a warm and comfortable with them. The location of this hostal is very centre and convenience, metro station, fastfood and many cafe are just around the corner, most tourist places and shopping mall are within walking distance.

Its position in center of Madrid. Clealiness.

The location was perfect for exploring Madrid, and we loved the spacious apartment we received at check-in. The staff were super friendly and the place was immaculate.

My wife says that the toiletries provided could be more plentiful for a larger group.

friendly staff. the fact we got upgraded was great considering we had our 3year daughter with us. the wifi was handy. so close to the metro and centre for shops and resturants. loved it!!!

Very nice room, hostel in the very centre of Madrid, an unusual elevator ;) I'd love to get back there one more time.

I booked for a 4-person room, but I was upgraded to apartment room with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and balcony. Very comfortable and the staff were very nice.
